Ouzoud Waterfalls, located 160 km from Marrakech, is a breathtaking site in the Middle Atlas, known for its majestic 110-meter-high waterfalls that plunge into a limestone basin surrounded by lush vegetation. A nearly constant rainbow adds to the beauty of the scene. Visitors can enjoy a swim at the foot of the falls, accessible via a shaded path lined with olive trees. At the top of the waterfall, small, ancient grain mills are still in operation, powered by the torrent’s waters.
In the evening, Barbary macaques can be spotted playing in the carob trees around the waterfalls, with some living in caves on the cliffs. The area is also home to a restaurant offering a panoramic view of the waterfalls, where visitors can enjoy lunch while taking in the scenery. The trip lasts about 10 hours, with daily availability and an 8:00 am departure.
